Award Ceremony and Winners’ Forum for The MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity 2014
Aeon Environmental Foundation determined the winners for The MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity 2014 and held an Award Ceremony in Pyeongchang, Korea on 15th, followed by the Winners’ Forum at United Nations University in Tokyo, Japan on 21th October. The MIDORI Prize is a biennial international prize founded by the Aeon Environmental Foundation in 2010 to honor individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity at global, regional or local levels. From among a total of 218 nominees from more than 60 nations, three prize winners were selected in recognition of achievements such as taking a leading role in promotion of the United Nations Decade on Biodiversity 2011-2020, an international guideline aiming for coexistence of human and nature in harmony.

At the Winners’ Forum on 21st, the audience was all eager to listen to the commemorative lecture and the panel discussions by the honored scientists.
