Hoping for the Earliest Recovery of Nepal

Thank you for all your support in the emergency relief funds campaign for Nepal.

On April 25th, a massive earthquake hit the central part of Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal with a magnitude of 7.8, causing serious destruction in houses and historical buildings across many districts including Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal and the surrounding mountain villages. It is estimated that as many as 8 million people were afflicted*, and long-term relief support is in a great need. Aeon, in response, conducted an emergency relief funds campaign at about 9,600 Group stores and offices, raising 54,374,097 yen. Added with the contribution of the equal amount by Aeon 1% Club, the total of 108,748,194 yen was presented to the Embassy of Nepal on May 19th. Prior to this, Aeon 1% Club had also granted anther 10 million yen of disaster relief to the Embassy on April 30th considering its urgency.
We would like to express our deepest sympathy to all those affected and pray for the earliest recovery of Nepal.
