“The Forth Japan-China International Symposium on Environmental Issues” was held in Beijing, China.

Aeon Environmental Foundation held “The Forth Japan-China International Symposium on Environmental Issues” in Beijing on September 8th. The Symposium began in 1993, aiming to promote cooperation between Japan and China, both of which seek to balance economic growth and environmental conservation. Over the past three Symposia, leading experts from both China and Japan discussed various issues on environment. These past discussions led a new initiative, The Great Wall Reforestation Project in which a total of 15,000 volunteers from Japan and China planted as many as one million trees over the period from 1998 to 2010. This year, marking its 25th anniversary, the Foundation held the 4th Symposium under the theme of “international environmental improvement and sustainable social development.” Concluding the Symposium, the Foundation and the Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau announced Aeon Beijing Environmental Proposal, pledging that the two countries will further promote bilateral interaction at a civic level through tree planting activities and educational programs for the young generation.
Aeon will continue to take proactive initiatives in its effort to preserve our shared globe for the children in the future.
