The Hlawga Lake, outside Yangon, is one of the sources of water for the city. However, due to logging, its ability to function as a watershed is decreasing. In order to restore that function and try to stabilize the amount of water stored in the lake, we will undertake a three year tree planting project to rebuild the forest.
* Watershed functions: Stores rainwater in the forest soil and levels the amount of water that flows into rivers and lakes to prevent flooding and water shortages.
