After graduation from university, Ms. Nozomi Tanabe has developed her career as a broadcaster at NHK.  She has appeared on news and informational programs such as “Ohayo Nippon (Good Morning Japan)” and “Shutoken Network (Tokyo Metropolitan Area Network)” and conducted news gathering activities.  Through visiting various places in Japan to gather information for TV programs, she was fascinated by local climates, lifestyles and natural blessings.  She developed interests in climate and agriculture, and acquired qualifications as a weather forecaster and vegetable sommelier.  Now she serves as a freelance broadcaster, weather forecaster, and symposia moderator.  After the Great East Japan Earthquake, she was engaged in reporting the disaster in Sendai and continued delivering life information.  She has supported the devastated areas through delivering messages from Tohoku district to other areas of Japan.  Also, she gives lectures on disaster prevention and climate change as a weather forecaster.
