Biologist, filmmaker, and explorer Jean Lemire works actively to raise awareness of environmental issues through documentary films. As mission leader of the Sedna IV, a 51-meter schooner equipped with the latest communication technology, he led three major expeditions that reached millions of people through entertaining and informative websites and through documentary films that are shown around the world.

In 2010, Lemire was appointed Honorary Ambassador for The Green Wave, a biodiversity campaign for children and youth coordinated by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Midori Prize for Biodiversity.

In 2012, he is back at the helm of the Sedna IV as mission leader of the 1000 Days for the Planet expedition, a new initiative to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our planet’s biodiversity.
