Douke, Teppei (Teppei Douke, Japan)

Mr. Teppei Dohke was born in Tokyo in 1980. He majored in philosophy and received an MA in humanities at Chiba University.  In 2003, he joined NACS-J and started his carrier as a staff member who is in charge of the IUCN Japan Committee. Since then he has attended IUCN meetings and other international conferences on biodiversity related conventions and analyzed information collected from NGOs overseas to sustain biodiversity in Japan. As an IUCN Japan Committee secretariat, Mr. Dohke participated in planning and conducting IUCN seminars and introduced worldwide trends relating to biodiversity and raising awareness of IUCN activities to the general public. During the 10th Meeting of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD-COP10) held in Aichi Prefecture in 2010, he served as a coordinator of the CBD civil network in the Tokyo administrative office. Currently he is working on building a network of projects and groups in action in Japan for achieving the Aichi Targets towards the implementation of the outcomes of COP10.
