Professor, World Heritage Studies, Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba since 2010. Before joining University of Tsukuba, he has been working for the Nature Conservation Society of Japan more than 20 years. Currently, he is serving as Executive Director of the Nature Conservation Society of Japan and Chair of Japan Committee for International Union for Conservation of Nature.
