AEON has named the satisfaction that diversity brings to employees, their families, customers, and the company "Daimanzoku," and has made it the group's shared vision.
We believe that this "Daimanzoku" is exactly what AEON aims to achieve through its diversity promotion.
Diversity promotion managers and staff assigned by about 60 companies in the group analyze the current situation of the company, set issues, engage in unique activities that take advantage of the characteristics of the business rooted in the region, and participate in activities common to the group. doing.

To realize diverse management, we cultivate people.
Diversity training is conducted to solve the issues common to all companies when promoting diversity and inclusion activities for the entire group.
In fiscal 2020, all activities were brought online, and the strength of cross-group learning and interaction opportunities became more apparent.
In 2014, we started a "career design course" for women around the age of 25 to reduce the number of young women resigning. After that, we started training for female managers and female manager candidates by rank. We also carry out cross-training to build a "vertical connection" by conducting some joint training for each rank. We are promoting diversity while learning about the issues that each group company has in common.

Target: Female managers
Through interactive management training, participants aim to build a relationship of trust with their subordinates, acquire coaching and communication skills suitable for training each subordinate, aim to become an executive of a group company in the future, and act as role models for nurturing younger generations.
By building up intragroup networking through progress report meetings between participants and interacting with executive-class mentors inside and outside the company, they become aware of the perspective of management and improve management skills as managers.

Participants think about their careers and goals to raise their awareness about higher-ranking positions.
By sharing and interacting with each other, the sense of belonging is improved, and through discussions with female managers at group companies, the appeal of becoming a manager will be felt on a personal level and the students will be more motivated about getting promoted.

We will sort out the anxieties about the future that many people feel while continuing to work and think about a life plan to continue to be active while balancing work and private life events. Through interaction with various types of senior female employees who have achieved work-life balance, participants learn that there are various options, which helps to dispel anxiety about the future and improve motivation.

Participating in training sponsored by NPO corporation J-Win (NPO Japan Women’s Innovative Network (J-Win)) *, leads to skill acquisition and more awareness as a manager through networking and mutual study opportunities for female business people that transcend the boundaries of industry and business type.

Training for people with disabilities
As an opportunity to learn practically and professionally for the purpose of hiring, retaining, and playing an active role in employees with disabilities in collaboration with Abilities Jusco Co., Ltd., a special subsidiary that has supported the employment and success of people with disabilities for 40 years, 1 month We carry out online training times. At the same time, we are working to instill correct knowledge and appropriate reasonable accommodation by combining it with the on-demand training video "Daimanzoku" library that anyone can learn anytime, anywhere, any number of times.
LGBTQ Training
We provide LGBTQ+ related training through the on-demand "Daimanzoku" library, with the aim of learning the latest human rights knowledge and creating a workplace where each employee can work as they are. Since anyone can learn it anytime, anywhere, and as many times as they want, many AEON people have taken the course and are learning a common understanding of basic LGBTQ+ knowledge and things to be considerate when dealing with customers.
